Control
The permanent controlled
discharge of people and equipment moving on a floor assures
low potential voltage differences by connection.
There is no need to regularly renovate
or extensively test your static control flooring or
to worry about unstable conductivity levels. Thanks
to its proprietary formulation and to the absence of
chemical antistatic additives, the static control properties
of ColoRex® are independent from ambient humidity
and will remain constant throughout the usable life
of the tiles. |
UniGrid® -
a unique feature
The brand name of a conductive
mesh applied on the back of ColoRex®. This
mesh joins all conductive veins in the tile and allows better contact with the
adhesive. UniGrid® gives you full control over the conductivity of your
static control flooring. It contributes to consistent electrical readings over
the whole
surface of the floor and minimizes the risk of conductivity problems due to improper
installation. |
Raised access floors Laminar flow
air treatment
The product is free of internal stresses and does not keep deformations. Even
when thermally cycled the product will return to its original shape and dimension.
ColoRex® tiles are dimensionally
stable and are not chipped when perforated. This
is of vital importance
for raised floor applications in high-tech areas and cleanrooms with laminar
flow air treatment. ColoRex®
can be maintained with dry methods and/or spray buffing when necessary. |
Minimal outgassing and low risk
of carbon contamination
Outgassing: chemicals leaving the tiles at ambient or slightly higher temperature.
Chemical contamination by outgassing
and particulate contamination by the release of carbon
particles are known critical issues in cleanroom
environments as they may cause defective end products,
malfunction or failure of process equipment and production
stops. At Forbo, intensive R&D and latest technology
testing equipment are used to ensure the constant
compliance of ColoRex® to the increasingly stringent
contamination control standards set by the industry. |
Low body voltage generation
Voltage generated and accumulated by a person when moving, and in this specific
case, when walking.
ColoRex® is not only an effective
product to safely ground electrostatic charges, it
has also proved to effec-tively minimize the generation
of such charges on moving personnel and equipment
in static control sensitive environments. |
Chemical resistance
Resistance to different chemicals like acids, bases and solvents during 24
hours exposure.
ColoRex® shows excellent resistance
against many strong acids and alkalis. Even the accidental
spillage of etching process chemicals will not harm
its surface and product properties. |
Mechanical Resistance
Resistance to damage from static and rolling loads by the combination of high
tensile strength and high
elongation, therefore achieving low residual indentation and excellent wear
resistance.
Industrial floors are often damaged
by intense and heavy traffic, especially by forklifts
and pallet jacks rolling on small, hard wheels. ColoRex® is
manufactured through a special high-pressure process
with a very low plasticizer content and shows therefore
an excellent resistance against static and dynamic
mechanical strain. |
Low Tribocharging
Charges generated by contact and separation of two different insulating material
(e.g. shoe from floor)
Trolleys rolling on castor wheels can generate relevant amounts of electrostatic
charges. This type of contamination can be effectively prevented with ColoRex®,
whose structure and surface quality are especially designed to minimize the generation
of triboelectric charges. |
100% Repairable
Repaired materials achieve the same performance as the original prior to damage.
Deep scratches, holes, burns and
other more or less severe surface damages on ordinary
vinyl floorings often require one or more tiles to
be stripped and replaced, making the damaged spot
even more visible and possibly disrupting the conductivity
of the floor. Not with ColoRex®. The homogenous
construction and low plasticizer content make it
possible to simply and effectively repair any damage,
without leaving any trace and without affecting the
static control properties. |
Personnel Safety
A tight range in electrical conductivity allows to take into account both the
safety of ESD sensitive material and the safety of personnel against electrical
shock.
With lower conductivity limits
in compliance with most international static control
standards, ColoRex® provides the protection
necessary for both personnel and equipment without
risking electrical safety hazards. |
